#3 Good discoveries
Hi my lovely foxes!
I'm sorry I was not able to post an article last week I was in Edinburgh to watch the defeat of France against Scotland at the 6 nations Championship ... Anyway
(By the way, If you are a real fan of this competition take a look to the blog of my friend Paul ( or " The French guy" sometimes he is called like that, but respect the sensitive he is) about it → https://eyesonthefrogs.blogspot.co.uk )
This week I wanted to talk about the good deals I found in Dumfries, places where you really have to go.
1. Restaurante El Fiume:
My parents came from France last week to visit the country and we ate in this cute Italian restaurant near the river: Pizzeria el Fiume.
As the name suggests it's a pizzeria restaurant but not only. Their menu is quite extensive they also offer pasta, beef ribs, salads, burgers ... The only negative point that you should know is that you have the opportunity to eat down only in the evening, there is no service at noon!
The advantage is that for students (like me) it's really affordable as price and quality is present. In addition, the restaurant' staff is very friendly and totally open to your desires, so I recommend this place without hesitation!

2. Crumb:
At lunchtime we ate at the Crumb which is a restaurant located on St Michael street near the Greens (for crazy pool table players )
We had a nice time, the place is very friendly and calm. This is a great place to spend a nice time with family or friends as well. The restaurant area is not very big but is very bright.
The menu is very varied too, they have no specialty of their own unlike El Fiume but offers different menus at attractive prices. At lunchtime you have the opportunity to eat copiously with a drink offered for a price ranging from 7 to 10 £.

3. Mrs Greens Tea Room:
Then I had the opportunity to go several times in this cute restaurant very typical. It is two blocks from home, that's why it was one of the first where I came when arriving here, and it is located in the center of Dumfries. This is a very unusual restaurant, the interior decoration is original and very British, everything is converted into a tea room. The staff is really friendly and very professional. Usually I went with my roommate to taste the homemade cakes (my favorite that I recommend is vanilla strawberries) but one day we decided to go to lunch there and we were not disappointed at all.
It's a little more expensive than the other places I mentioned above, but it's just as good! They make a lot of vegan and gluten free products and everything is homemade! a delight!

4. The Pancake Place:
In short, it's paradise this place, it's homemade pancakes and a large variety of it! My favorite is pancakes with raspberry, literally I can't resist.
To top it all you can sit on nice and big booths so it's really a good point. You have the opportunity to order sandwiches too but between us, it would be a mess to go down and not to take a pancake ... just saying ...
I tell you no more, go there yourself is worth the detour.
I warn that I am unfortunately not sponsored by the places above .... (I would have liked but on one side it's not bad for my diet) 😜
